The Siegfrieds

Excelsior, MN, US - "We have no interest in making money with our music since we have enough to be healthy and happy," says Jeff of the family's musical ambitions. "I've tried selling my music, to some success, but it's always unnatural. Music doesn't have to be a commodity to be worthwhile. Our profits is in the giving. You can't take the money with you, but I think we've gotta shot at taking the essence of our interactions with us. In that context, the pursuit of money ends up being a waste of time."

The family plans on playing at rest homes some day. "When my grandpa was in hospice last winter, every day I walked into that place and said, "these people need music and human interaction.' Playing for people like that is a goal of ours," Jeff went on to say. "We could be out there hawking our music and making a few bucks here and there, but I'm just not convinced that is the point of our existence here on the planet."

Both Jeff and Jill lost their jobs in 2007. "We've picked ourselves off since the recession hit. We were even homeless for a short time. We were lucky to have each other, but a lot of people aren't that lucky. Right now, we are honing our skills as a musical group to that end. That's why we posted this stuff on places like Reverbnation and iLike."
